Izobraževanje
Dr. Ivan Gabrić je končal Medicinsko fakulteto Univerze v Zagrebu. Diplomiral je s temo vpliv refraktivne kirurgije na slabovidnost pri odraslih pacientih. Izpopolnjevanje na področju laserske kirurgije očesa je opravljal v prestižnih medicinskih centrih v ZDA in Nemčiji.

Dr. Gabrić je imel drugačno pot kot ostali kolege, ker se je prvič z lasersko odpravo dioptrije srečal še kot otrok starosti 9 let, ko je njegov oče, prof. dr. sc. Nikica Gabrić prinesel tehnologijo za lasersko odpravo dioptrije iz Japonske še leta 1998. Od tedaj je fasciniran s tehnologijo, ki pacientom omogoča, da po nekaj minutah dobijo novi, boljši pogled na svet in je to bil razlog, da tudi sam postane zdravnik, ki se danes ukvarja.
Od leta 2012 aktivno sodeluje v delu refraktivnih kirurgov in načrtovanju laserskih korekcij vida. Nekaj let je sodeloval z ameriškimi zdravniki, ki so delali na razvoju metode za napredne površinske metode. Eden je izmed redkih zdravnikov, ki so osebno uporabljali tri najpogostejše platforme za odpravljanje dioptrije VISX S4 IR, Wavelight Allegretto in Schwind Amaris.
Opravlja posege crosslinking na MLase CCL-365 in Avedro KXL napravah. Opravil je specialno edukacijo v Schwind Eye Tech Solutions za načrtovanje personaliziranih posegov laserskega odpravljanja dioptrije.
Uvajanje novih metod
Dr. Gabrić je zagovornik zgodnjega crosslinkinga pri keratokonusu in refraktivnih metod v kombinaciji s crosslinkingom po standardih ali z novim protokolom za zdravljene, kot so Tel-Aviv protokol.
Publikacije in raziskovanja
Soavtor je poglavja knjige Surgical Corection of Myopia. Predava o izkušnjah s personaliziranih tretmajih na platformi Schwind Amaris.

Clinical Investigation of the CHEETAH SYSTEM FOR THE CORRECTION OF MYOPIA WITH AND WITHOUT ASTIGMATISM
This study will be a 3-phase, 12-months, prospective,single arm, multicenter, open-label, non-comparative, clinical investigation conducted at up to 7 sites. Up to 20 subjects will be enrolled in phase I, up to 30 subjects in phase II, and up to 200 subjects in phase 3 to achieve up to 350 treated eyes.

IIS Rotational Stability of Two Toric IOLs for Presbyopia Correction
To evaluate and compare the clinical outcomes of two toric presbyopia-correcting intraocular lenses (IOLs).
Non-randomized prospective comparative study including 86 eyes of 51 patients (age 43-83 years) that underwent cataract surgery with implantation of one of the following two IOLs: TECNIS Toric Synergy (Johnson & Johnson Vision) (Synergy group) or AT LISA tri toric 939MP (Carl Zeiss Meditec) (ATLISA group).
